100 hundred years of Spanish animation

The Academy of the Arts and the Cinematographic Sciences of Spain in Madrid celebrated the International Day of the Animation last 28th October 2016 with the presentation of the book "100 years of Spanish animation: Art and technology". The book comprises in an exhaustive way the history and evolution of this film technique in Spain since 1916, year of "The Apache of London", the first documented production of the Spanish animation, up to the present day.

The member of the LMI and co-author of the book Samuel Viñolo attended to this presentation, along with the teachers Pilar Yébenes (European University of Madrid), José Antonio Rodríguez (U-TAD) and Rodrigo Mesonero (European University of Madrid). Others attendants were the producer of animation and publisher of the book Manuel Cristóbal, Carlos Biern (president of DIBOOS), José Luis Farias (3D Wire), and Cruz Delgado, director of the 1979 adaptation of "Don Quixote" into a famous animation TV series.
