Políticas de comunicación en Europa (1992-2012): de derecho fundamental a servicio comercial

The article presents a first approach to the analysis of communication policies of the EU in the last 20 years in view of assessing their impact on the field of media, with special emphasis on the media. We review the European legislation on the subject and points the way the wrong strategy of media companies in their relations with the EU may have promoted legislation that goes against their interests. Also raises the prospect of establishing performance standards to protect the future development of companies dedicated to information, entertainment and advertising in accordance with policy developments at European and Spanish and Catalan.
