Digital technology incorporates improvements in the teaching and learning process in Higher Education. With the aim of disseminating a reality that can inspire and drive new future practices, successful experiences from the University of Barcelona are presented. The 11 selected cases are considered emerging practices because they use technology for pedagogical purposes appropriate to the context. The value of digital technology is linked to its ability to enhance active learning and generate student-centred educational practices. The introductory analysis and the selected proposals are the result of the research project "Emerging educational practices mediated by digital technologies in higher education", funded by the Institute for Research in Education (IRE-UB).
