3rd. International Conference on Governance, Crime and Justice Statistics

Our researcher, member of LMI-UB, Riccardo Valente, presented some results of MARGIN Project in the 3rd. International Conference on Governance, Crime and Justice Statistics in the session Integration of different crime data sources to understanding crime. His presentation tittle was "Analyse the relationship between socio-economic inequalities, victimization and crime".

This study examines the impact that volunteering who offer learning support to students inside classroom. The study demonstrate not only how volunteering can positively influence students' academic performance but also how it contribute to the inclusive character of the school.

Debate about sirian refugees in the Uvic

Tuesday 1 December at 12.30 h. is held in the Uvic a debate entitled "The Syrian refugee crisis: the European shame" coordinated by Maria Forga (LMI UVic) and moderated by Teresa Carreras, member of the APEC. Participants are the lawyer Eduard Sagarra, experte in EU and Immigration Law; journalist Agus Morales, a former partner of Médicos sin Fronteras and current editor of the magazine 5W and Jad, a syrian based in Vic since ten years ago.

Erasmus + Reporting on diversity

The European Union has approved a project Erasmus +  in the field of Learning Mobility of Individuals. The LMI-UVIC Research group participates as a partner. The project "Reporting on diversity: an ethical representation of migrants and ethnic minorities" focuses on responsible journalism on diversity. Includes the participation of 44 students and media professionals in a workshop in Catania, Italy, from 13 to 19 October 2015.

Margin Project H2020: Kick off Meeting

The Margin project has already started. Last week the Kick of Meeting was organized. It was initial meeting that took place at Uninversitat de Barcelona with all partners: UB, Eurocrime, INHESJ, Departament d’Interior, OKRI, URL, UNIMIB It was the starting point of the project that will last two years.

Trabajar un espacio común desde asignaturas y facultades diferentes implicadas en este proyecto comunicativo.

Presentación del documental Vides Diverses

El documental Vides diverses muestra la necesidad y capacidad de autonomía de las personas con discapacidad física. Impulsado por ECOM, se podrá ver en los Cines Girona de Barcelona todos los miércoles de mayo. Raúl Martínez Corcuera, profesor de Comunicación de la UVIC y miembro del LMI, presentará el documental el 20 de mayo.
