PhD. Ricardo Iglesias has obtained a Research Residency from the Center for Studies and Documentation (CED) of MACBA. Research project: 'Connected bodies: Art, technology, utopia and robotics'.

The blockchain is a new technology that is breaking through in many fields, and also in the educational system. But it is not a specific technology which you can expect to improve a concrete situation: It is more a technology that allows registering events from an innovative form. And this can be translated into unsuspected changes. After presenting what Blockchain is and some examples of social uses, in the applications currently in use, there is an analysis of the problems to which the technology aims to answer.

PhD. Ricardo Iglesias has participated in the International Colloquium "Art after the end of the world" (Palace of Fine Arts - CDMX) with the keynote address "On the human and the post-human. Art and new technologies.
Quantum Art Lab. Session
Work session on an artistic production inspired by quantum physics. A group of scientists, programmers, engineers and artists met on 06.29.2018 with the aim of putting in common ideas and proposals aimed at making possible new ways of confluence between art and science.
Presentation of the book "Art and robotics"
As part of the proposals for the 7th Edition, the jury has awarded the III Essay Prize on New Media Art MADATAC to "Art and Robotics_Technology as an Aesthetic Experimentation" by Ricardo Iglesias. The book will be presented in January, coinciding with the programming of MADATAC 07.

As part of the proposals for the 7th Edition, the jury has failed the III Essay Prize on New Media Art MADATAC in favour of "Art and Robotics_Technology as an Aesthetic Experimentation" by Ricardo Iglesias, the book is a historical, literary and artistic aesthetic journey on technological experimentation. A theoretical and practical research from the first automats s. XVIII to the present, with a detailed analysis of numerous robotic Installations.
