Debate about sirian refugees in the Uvic
Tuesday 1 December at 12.30 h. is held in the Uvic a debate entitled "The Syrian refugee crisis: the European shame" coordinated by Maria Forga (LMI UVic) and moderated by Teresa Carreras, member of the APEC. Participants are the lawyer Eduard Sagarra, experte in EU and Immigration Law; journalist Agus Morales, a former partner of Médicos sin Fronteras and current editor of the magazine 5W and Jad, a syrian based in Vic since ten years ago.

Riccardo Valente presented his paper titled "Perceived insecurity in a city with low-crime rates: the case of Barcelona" at the XII Conference of the European Sociological Association held in Prague from 25th to 28th August. This participation also created opportunities for disseminating the MARGIN project.
MARGIN project: top score of 15 out of 15
The MARGIN Coordination and Support Action is a research project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme and it has been evaluated with the top score of 15 out of 15. Antonio Bartolomé and Riccardo Valente of the Interactive Media Lab (LMI) of the University of Barcelona coordinate the project.
The project provides policy makers with evidence-based tools for developing and assessing strategies targeted at the reduction of insecurity among different demographic and socioeconomic groups.
